CviLux sees a PCIe Gen 5.0 platform from Intel, and AMD is also expected
to ferment sometime in 2022. Intel will be rolling out its ARC series on the
new PCI Gen 5.0 standard, so this means that CviLux will definitely be following
up with some graphics cards to upgrade to PCIe Gen 5.0. So a new power
connector is necessary, and that's what the 12V high-power connector designed
specifically with the PCIe 5.0 port does. The new standard can deliver 55A of
continuous power through one 12V channel, which will allow up to 600W of
power to the graphics card. As GPUs become more power-hungry, existing
power delivery systems will not be sufficient.
